The Graduate Institute offers Master’s Degree in "Experiential Health & Healing" at Hartford Hospital

Masters Degree ProgramThe Graduate Institute of Bethany, CT, in collaboration with Hartford Hospital’s Department of Integrative Medicine, is delighted to offer an exceptional graduate program for Hartford Hospital staff and interested members of the surrounding community.

The Master of Arts in Integrative Health and Healing is an innovative program that celebrates health as the optimal alignment of body, mind, and spirit. From the ancient roots of medicine to contemporary practice, it enables participants to incorporate diverse complementary and alternative (CAM) therapies into their lives and professions. It is offered under the Academic Direction of Drs. Bernie Siegel, author and retired surgeon from Yale New Haven Hospital, and J. David Forbes, President of the American Holistic Medical Association.

The program begins in Spring 2012 in Hartford, and meets one weekend per month for 22 months. This 36 credit Master of Arts degree is accredited by the Connecticut Department of Higher Education. Program of study includes interactive presentations by notable faculty/practitioners, hands-on demonstrations, group dialogue, independent mentorships and internships, and a Culminating Project directed toward individual interests and needs.

Healing modalities studied and practiced throughout the program include Energy Medicine, Homeopathy, Naturopathic Medicine, Food and Nutrition, Mind/Body Techniques, Sound and Art Therapies, Massage and Bodywork, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, Yoga, Herbs and Botanicals, and Vitamins and Nutraceuticals. Faculty includes Drs. C. Norm Shealy, Caroline Myss, Steven Horowitz, Lauri Grossman, Richard Caskey, Gene Ang, and Bhaswati Bhattacharya.
